Ann Cox,
BSS (Hons)
MSc Psychotherapy
Dip Counselling.

Ann is a Psychotherapist and a director of the Centre. With a background in social work, she proceeded to train as a counsellor and subsequently qualified as a clinical psychotherapist in St. Vincent's University Hospital. Ann has completed specialised trauma trainings in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing and her Masters focused on trauma and the body. In her practice Ann sees adults with a wide variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression (including postnatal depression), sexuality, bereavement, stress and trauma. She holds the philosophy that people have the potential to be more that their difficulties. Ann lectures counselling and psychotherapy students in DBS School of Arts.

Susan Eustace,
BA (Hons)
MSc Counselling Psychology

Susan is a Counselling Psychologist and a director of the Centre. She has a BA in pure psychology from UCD and an MSc in Counselling Psychology from TCD. She has worked with adult clients with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, mental health issues, abuse, chronic illness, and relationship problems. She also works with adolescents with such issues as depression, conduct problems, anxiety, identity concerns, bullying, and relationship issues. She lectures in psychology and psychotherapy in both TCD and DBS.

Catherine Beatty,
MSc Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Cathy is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and trained with the Irish Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Trinity College Dublin. Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy helps the person gain a deeper understanding of his/her thoughts, feelings and behaviour, aspects of which may be outside of conscious awareness. Therapy provides an opportunity to explore and work through a wide range of emotional and life difficulties. The regular sessions of therapy provide a setting within which unconscious patterns can be brought into awareness and worked through with a view to change.

Sinead Benn.
BA (Hons) Psychology
MSc Counselling Psychology
Dip Clinical Integrative Psychotherapy
Sinead is a Counselling Psychologist, with a background in working therapeutically with children. She studied Psychology at UCD and Counselling Psychology at Trinity College Dublin. Sinead works with children and adolescents with issues such as parental separation/divorce, bullying, conduct/behavioural problems and anxiety. She also has experience working with adult clients presenting with various issues including depression, anxiety, abuse, bereavement and relationship difficulties. Her approach is Integrative, drawing from Person Centred Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory. Sinead focuses on establishing a safe therapeutic relationship where difficult issues can be explored at the client's pace. She engages in both short-term and long-term therapeutic work.

Megan Gaffney
BA (Hons)
MSc Counselling Psychology
Megan is a Counselling Psychologist with a background in mental health and employment services. She studied psychology at Boston University and Counselling Psychology at Trinity College Dublin. Using an integrated approach, Megan has worked therapeutically both short and long term with adults and adolescents with a wide range of difficulties including: anxiety, depression, panic attacks, mental health issues, and relationship difficulties. Megan also provides therapy in a GP practice and works with the Asperger Syndrome Association of Ireland (Aspire) and Dublin City University. Megan is also part of a consultancy team which provides personal and professional development training.

Patrick Harraghy
Dip Counselling & Psychotherapy

Patrick has a Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy from the Tivoli Institute and has done further trainings in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Developmental & Trauma Models). He has also done training in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. He covers a wide range of issues which include trauma, post traumatic stress disorder, bullying, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and sexual issues. Patrick also provides supervision to fellow professionals.

Trish Haugh MIACP

Cert Art Therapy
Trish graduated in Fine Art from Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design. She subsequently studied and taught Re-evaluation Counselling (Co-counselling) while also studying Classical and Iyengar Yoga. During the 1990s she trained and received a diploma in an Integrative approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy. Trish registered with IACP in 2002. Further studies include: Art Therapy and Feldenkrais Method (Awareness of Self through Movement). Her approach to individual Psychotherapy is Body Orientated and Psychodynamic.

Clare Hickey

Clare is a Counselling Psychologist (M.Sc. Counselling Psychology, Trinity College Dublin.) She has provided both short and long term counselling with clients with ages ranging from teens to sixties. Client issues have included: sexual abuse, post traumatic stress disorders, suicidal thoughts, separation, divorce, anxiety, depression, addictions, anorexia and bulimia. She has also compiled a series of lectures and taught classes on Psychology for the V.E.C.

Frances Kenny-Denneny. MIACP.
Dip Couns TCD. BA (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy.
Frances is a psychotherapist and began her training in the late 80's. She has been in private practice since '96 and became accredited with The Irish Association For Counselling & Psychotherapy in '98. Her theoretical approach is humanistic & integrative incorporating person centred, gestalt, existential psychotherapy, life-span development and attachment theory. Frances has experience working in a centre for suicide & self-harm prevention. An area of special interest to her is in working with HSP's (The Highly Sensitive Person). Within a holistic framework all aspects of the human condition are covered.

Sarah McAuley

Sarah is a Registered Psychologist (P.S.I) and a psychotherapist with a background in psychology and teaching. She worked as a voluntary counsellor with the Samaritans and subsequently qualified as a clinical psychotherapist in St. Vincent's University Hospital. She is a founding member of the Irish College of Psychoanalysts (I.C.P). Sarah's clinical interest lies in the treatment of the symptoms of psychological distress that underlie anxiety and depression. She is also interested in the formation and development of identity and sexuality. Sarah has lectured in psychotherapy at DBS School of Arts, has experience in supervision and has given talks on the topics of psychoanalysis and human subjectivity.

Ciaran Mahony

Ciaran works as a counsellor and psychotherapist, and is informed by a Humanistic and Integrative approach. He believes that all clients have the ability to find their own way forward given a supportive and safe space. In his work, Ciaran draws from psychodynamic, gestalt, body-work and transpersonal methods and philosophies, according to the needs of his clients. He has experience of working with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, sexuality, self esteem, relationship, addictions, obsessions, and identity issues. He also works with clients simply seeking to explore and come to a deeper awareness of who they are and where they find themselves in their lives.

Alison McGrann

Alison is a Counselling Psychologist with a background in general nursing. She studied psychology at NUI Galway and Counselling Psychology at Trinity College Dublin. She has experience in working as a psychologist with clients with various presentations including medical illness, trauma (acute and chronic), bereavement, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and coping with stressful life events. Alison also works as a hospital psychologist and offers clinical supervision to other professionals.

Audrey O' Cinneide

Teen Between Counsellor

Audrey is a licensed counsellor with the Couples Institute of Ireland. She trained with the marriage and relationship service, Grafton Street, Dublin and graduated as a Relationship and Couples therapist in 1992. Since that time she has continued to specialise in working with couples. Audrey completed the Teen Between Counselling training for children of separating or divorcing couples. She has developed her experience and expertise by undertaking an internship in addiction counselling in the Rutland Centre which she completed in 2002.

Maggie O'Neill
Dip Counselling & Psychotherapy
Maggie trained as a counsellor and psychotherapist in Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre. She works in a humanistic and integrative way with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, bereavement/loss, depression, sexual abuse, addiction, trauma, psychosexual problems and relationship problems. Maggie has been a member and was chairperson of The Miscarriage Association of Ireland for over twelve years. She has special interest in working with women/couples following the loss of their baby through miscarriage, regardless of when the loss may have occurred. She facilitates Caring Days for women following early or late miscarriage. In addition, Maggie also runs Spirituality workshops for groups of women.

Josephine Quinlan MIACP, MIAAC
Dip in Professional Counselling
Registered Nurse
Josephine is an accredited counsellor with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and also with the Irish Association of Alcohol and Addiction Counsellors (IAAAC). She is continuing her professional development through a Masters training programme in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy. Josephine has specialised in the area of suicide bereavement. She also has experience in the areas of stress management, self-esteem difficulties, anger management, depression, addiction, trauma and suicide. Josephine works with individuals who are finding life a struggle at this time.

Bethan Rees

Bethan studied Psychology in the United Kingdom and trained as a Counselling Psychologist at Trinity College Dublin. She takes a humanistic approach to counselling; creating a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for her clients. Bethan believes that the relationship between client and counsellor is very important in helping a person to discover their own inner resources. She has a particular interest in exploring how our past experiences of attachment and loss impacts on our current way of living. Bethan has experience in working with both couples and individuals with issues including anxiety, depression, separation, divorce, sexual abuse, low confidence and self esteem, childhood issues and relationship difficulties. Bethan provides both short and long term counselling to clients of all ages.

Anne trained and qualified in Visual Psychotherapy, Child Art Therapy and Adult Psychotherapy at major Dublin hospitals. Further studies include Postgraduate Diplomas in Integrative Humanistic Counseling /Psychotherapy and Integrative Clinical Psychotherapy. She has experience with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, illness, relationship, self-esteem and life choice/stage issues. Anne regards each individual as possessing the means for personal growth and believes psychotherapy enables the individual to access their own resources and view their life in the light of new perspectives. She holds a safe non-judgmental space in which the individual may creatively explore life circumstances and difficulties which bring them to therapy. Anne's approach is holistic and Integrative. Modalities include Person-Centered, Existential, Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic, Psychosynthesis, Gestalt, Somatic, and Art Therapy.

Angelina Veiga

Angelina trained as a counsellor and psychotherapist at The Irish Institute of Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies at Turning Point. Her approach is integrative and holistic. Depending on individual client needs and goals she draws upon many modalities including Rogerian, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Somatic and Psychosynthesis.

She considers life events and difficulties that often bring individuals to therapy to be opportunities for personal growth, which allow individuals to gain a deeper awareness of the self. Her approach to therapy emphasizes creating a supportive, safe relationship in which people can learn and grow.
